New Beginnings

It’s been 10 weeks since we made the move to the North York Moors, and in all that time it doesn’t seem to have stopped raining! I know this has been pretty much the case nationwide, but it’s been really noticeable coupled with the move to somewhere so remote. It’s provided plenty of opportunity to reflect and explore nature and focus on nesting and nurturing, but alongside Imbolc and the tentative unfurling of the snowdrop petals, my thoughts are slowly returning to new ideas and projects.

I’m thinking of creating a monthly flower in crochet to make into earrings – any suggestions for your favourite? I’ve already made a snowdrop pair out of soft as cloud merino wool.

I’ve started a picture of an old tree – the textures and colours at this time of year a numerous albeit more muted, and fancy drawing the barn owl that I see most days on my walk. I’m also making myself a tank top – a simple design to use up all my yarn leftovers, hopefully in time for spring!

Whatever you’re up to, I hope you’ve kept warm and dry and are able to enjoy the last of the winter.

Until next time, Anne-Louise
